How are items assigned to tiers?

Tiers are calculated automatically from the live value feed using percentile cutoffs: Legendary = top 10%, Epic = 11–30%, Rare = 31–60%, Common = bottom 40%. No manual curation is involved — rankings update every 10 minutes as values change.

Can an item move between tiers?

Yes. If an item's value rises or falls enough to cross a percentile boundary, it moves to the appropriate tier on the next data refresh. This is most common when a game update significantly boosts or tanks a specific item's demand.

What is the difference between tier and demand?

Tier reflects an item's absolute value rank compared to all other items. Demand reflects how easy that item is to move in a trade right now, independently of value. A Legendary item with low demand may sit in trades for days; a Rare item with high demand can close in minutes. Always consider both dimensions.

Why does the tier list only show 12 items per tier?

The page displays the top 12 most valuable items per tier to keep it scannable. Every item is also listed on its full category page and the main values list, where you can filter and sort by tier, stability, and demand.

Should I only aim to trade Legendary for Legendary?

Not necessarily. Same-tier trades are common but not required. What matters is that the total value on each side of the trade falls within roughly 10% of the other — that's our fair-trade threshold. A Legendary can fairly trade for two Epics if the numbers align. Use the trade calculator to check any combination before committing.
