Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sailor Piece("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use any of our Services — including:

  • The Sailor Piece Trading website at https://sailorpiecetrading.com
  • The Sailor Piece mobile application for iOS (Apple App Store)
  • The Sailor Piece mobile application for Android (Google Play Store)

By using any of our Services you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account in the mobile app we collect the information you provide or that is returned by your sign-in provider:

  • Email / password — your email address and a hashed password (stored by Firebase Authentication).
  • Google Sign-In — your Google account name, email address, and profile photo URL.
  • Apple Sign-In — your name and email address (Apple may provide a private relay address).

Profile information

After sign-up you may provide a display name, username, profile photo, and a short bio. Profile photos are uploaded to our media storage provider (BunnyCDN). Your display name, username, and profile photo are visible to other users.

User-generated content

  • Chat messages — text and images you send in public group chats or private 1-to-1 conversations. Messages are stored on Firebase Realtime Database.
  • Trade listings — items you post in the trading board, including item names and any description you write.
  • Reviews & ratings — written reviews and numeric ratings you leave for other users.
  • Inventory — item lists you mark as owned or on your wishlist.

Device & technical information

  • Push notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token assigned to your device, used to deliver in-app notifications.
  • Presence data — whether the app is currently open on your device (used to avoid sending duplicate notifications when you are actively chatting). This is automatically cleared when you close the app.
  • Server & web logs — IP address, user agent, referring URL, and pages requested when you use the website.

Payment information

In-app purchases (Pro subscription) are processed entirely by RevenueCat and the platform payment system (Apple or Google). We do not receive or store your credit card number or other payment details. We only receive a confirmation of your subscription status.

Advertising & consent data

We use Google AdMob to display ads in the mobile app and Google AdSense on the website. Before showing personalised ads we present a consent dialog (Google User Messaging Platform / Apple ATT prompt). Your consent choice is stored locally on your device and shared with Google in accordance with their policies.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To operate chat, trading, and community features of the app.
  • To send push notifications about new private messages (you can disable notifications in your device settings at any time).
  • To process and verify your Pro subscription status.
  • To display advertisements and measure ad performance.
  • To detect abuse, enforce our rules, and keep the Services safe (e.g., processing content reports).
  • To operate and improve the Services (server logs, error monitoring).

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Other users— your display name, username, profile photo, bio, ratings, trade listings, and chat messages are visible to other users of the app as part of the service's social features.
  • Service providers — we use the third-party services listed in Section 4 to operate the Services. Each provider only receives the data necessary to perform their function.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

4. Third-party services

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Cloud Messaging to power accounts, data storage, and push notifications. Firebase may process data on servers in the United States and other countries. See the Firebase Privacy Policy.

Google AdMob & AdSense (Google LLC)

We display ads via Google AdMob (mobile app) and Google AdSense (website). Google may use cookies and advertising identifiers to deliver personalised ads. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings or opt out of interest-based advertising through your device settings (Limit Ad Tracking on iOS; Opt out of Ads Personalization on Android).

RevenueCat

In-app subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase receipts to verify entitlements. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

BunnyCDN

Profile photos and chat images are stored on BunnyCDN servers. Uploaded files are accessible via a public CDN URL after upload.

5. Mobile app permissions

Camera

Used to take photos for your profile picture or to send images in chat. The camera is accessed only when you explicitly tap the camera action.

Photo library

Used to select existing photos from your device for your profile picture or chat images. Photos are accessed only when you choose to upload one.

Push notifications

Used to notify you of new private messages. You will be asked for permission before notifications are enabled. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings app.

Internet access

Required to connect to our servers and Firebase services.

6. Local storage

Both the website and the mobile app store data locally on your device:

  • WebsitelocalStorage is used to remember your recent trade calculator history. This data never leaves your browser.
  • Mobile app — we use MMKV secure local storage to cache your selected game, blocked/followed user lists, favourite items, notification preferences, and ad consent status. This data is stored only on your device.

7. Data retention & deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages, trade listings, reviews, and inventory data are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. Presence and session data are automatically deleted when you close the app.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have rights including: access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data, restriction of processing, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): Our legal bases for processing are contract performance (providing the Services), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention), consent (ads personalisation), and legal obligation.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures including Firebase Authentication, HTTPS, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted — they are stored in plain text on Firebase servers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
