Tier-by-tier trading strategy: Common to Legendary

The four value tiers behave differently in trade. Here's what to expect and how to approach each one.

Common tier — commodity and filler

Common tier covers the bottom 40% of tracked values — items like Clan Rerolls (0.2–0.3 per unit), Passive Shards (0.1 each), Boss Keys, and basic accessories. These move fast at predictable prices. Their role in trading is as fillers and sweeteners, not lead items. Don't hoard Commons hoping for appreciation — the supply is constantly refreshed by codes and boss drops. Use them to close gap trades or bundle them when you need to hit an add-on number.

Rare tier — the trading backbone

Rare tier (31–60% band) is the bread-and-butter of the Sailor Piece trading economy. Items like the Ragna Set (2,200+), Gojo Blindfold, Hollow Mask, and mid-tier melee specs sit here. Demand is consistent, values are stable, and most completed trades involve at least one Rare-tier item per side. Build up a working rotation of Rare items you can flip — these are your working capital. High-demand Rares can punch above their raw value against slower, lower-demand Epics.

Epic tier — strategy required

Epic tier (11–30%) is where strategy matters. Items like Anos Outfit, Gilgamesh Armor, Monarch Armor, and Shadow Cloak live here. Values are higher, volume is thinner, and one bad trade hurts meaningfully. Never trade Epic for Epic without running the demand and stability checks — an Unstable Epic against a Stable one at the same raw value is not an even trade. Use the calculator and read every signal on each Epic deal before confirming.

Legendary tier — play the long game

Legendary tier represents the top 10% of all tracked values — currently anchored by the Shadow Monarch sword (100K), Ice Queen sword (SS tier), Atomic sword (90K), Abyssal Empress (80K), Moon Slayer melee (95K), and Strongest Shinobi (90K). These are high-floor, low-liquidity items. The pool of players who have legendaries to trade is small, so expect long queue times in Discord. Don't chase — post your offer in the trading channels and wait for a matching counterparty. Rushing a Legendary trade is almost always worse than waiting.

Tiers change with every update

Tier is not destiny. The Ice Update pushed the Ice Queen sword directly to SS (above Legendary) while simultaneously sliding pre-Ice Misc items from Rare to Common territory. A Rising Rare item can climb into Epic-tier effective value; an Unstable Epic can slide below Rare. Re-check tiers after every major update and use the Trends page on this site to catch shifts before the rest of the community does.
